2019 National Employer Support Awards

AUSTRALIA’S leading employers have been recognised for their continued support to our Australian Defence Force Reservists at the annual Defence Reserves Support Council National Employer Support Awards ceremony held in Canberra on 18 June at the Australian War Memorial.

Minister for Defence Personnel, the Hon Darren Chester MP said the awards showcased those employers that actively supported their Defence Force Reservists in the workplace, allowing them to contribute meaningfully to both their civilian and military roles.

“The support of employers such as the ones recognised here tonight enable our Defence Force Reservists to be released from their civilian roles to perform a variety of roles across the three services within the Defence Force.

“The Employer Support Awards acknowledge on a state, territory and national level the contribution that employers make to the Australian Defence Force by providing working conditions and policies that support Reserve service.”

Mr Chester said all businesses across Australia that support Defence Force Reservists should be commended for the support they provide to their employees.

“Our Reservists are a highly-skilled, dynamic and disciplined workforce, their service to our Country is made possible by the support of employers, such as the ones recognised here tonight,” Mr Chester said

“I commend both the awards winners and nominees here this evening for your continued support of your Defence Force Reservists and a wider commitment to the future of Australia.”
