Employers get the ‘Reservist Experience’ at HMAS Creswell
Six ACT Government executives had their leadership skills put to the test when they took part in a two day Exercise Executive Stretch at HMAS Creswell in April.
Arranged by the Defence Reserves Support Council, ACT & South East NSW region, the Exercise aimed to provide employers firsthand experience in Reserve training.
Over the two days the members participated in activities aimed at illustrating key aspects of military work including leadership decision-making challenges, a simulated sea rescue activity and various briefings.
One of the participants, Bren Burkevics, Senior Director, Security and Emergency Management Branch, Justice and Community Safety Directorate said, “All ADF personnel and officers that delivered sessions or activities were so friendly and wanting to share their knowledge and experiences. It left me with a highly positive view of the professionalism, capabilities, safety focus and sense of organisation within the ADF.”
The highlight of the visit was a ride on a MRH-90 Taipan helicopter. While a little scary for those who may be height challenged the ride was a terrific experience for all.
