Meet the new Head Reserve and Youth Division - Rear Admiral Brett Wolski
Rear Admiral Brett Wolski joined the RAN in 1986 as a Supplementary List officer. After being awarded his Bridge Watchkeeping Certificate in HMAS Brisbane in 1989, he completed postings in HMA Ships Stuart, Perth, and Canberra before returning to HMAS Brisbane.
Promoted to Lieutenant Commander in 2000, he was subsequently posted to the Deployable Joint Force Headquarters in Brisbane until deploying as RAN Liaison Officer COMFIFTHFLT based in Bahrain in 2002.
As Executive Officer HMAS MANOORA and Commanding Officer HMAS TOBRUK, Rear Admiral Wolski undertook deployments to Operation FALCONER, ANODE, CATALYST/SLIPPER and RESOLUTE, and participated in Exercises TALISMAN SABRE and RIMPAC.
Promoted to Captain in November 2008, Rear Admiral Wolski was appointed Director of Workforce Modelling, Forecasting and Analysis located in Canberra. He was subsequently selected as Commanding Officer HMAS Stirling from December 2010 – December 2012.
In January 2013, Rear Admiral Wolski was promoted to Commodore and posted as Director General Workforce Planning. He was promoted to Rear Admiral and assumed the appointment of Head People Capability from December 2015 - December 2018. In May 2019 he assumed the appointment of Head Reserve and Youth Division and Commander Australian Defence Force Cadets. He was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2016 Australia Day Honours.
Rear Admiral Wolski is married to Sandra and has two children, Elena and Alexander. He enjoys a range of interests including jogging/bushwalking and agriculture.
